LUDLOW BRIDGE

The Ludlow Bridge is a rehabilitated bridge that connects two communities. The traffic flows to the North in the morning and to the South in the afternoon. The proposal uses one of the four lanes for additional pedestrian programming and the directions of the third transitions are dependent on traffic. Each design decision was influenced by the site and its adjacent surroundings. Wind plays a major role in the design, therefore ETFE helps diminish it’s intensity while framing specific views. ASTM Steel is cantilevered off of the exiting pier caps, widening the pedestrian walkways.
